It's about the kids understanding, not your greatness!

It's not about what you can do (we know you're talented). It's not about how much you know (we know you're smart). It's about reaching your kids in a simple, easy, basic manner. If you demonstrate, demonstrate in the simplest, easiest, most basic, easy-to-follow manner you can so they can try to copy exactly what you showed. (Better if you can get another kid to demonstrate.) If you explain, explain the simplest, easiest, most basic, easy-to-follow manner you can so they don't get confused. If there's any part of what you're doing that's more "be impressed by me" vs "how can I reach you at your level", you want to switch up your approach.
